Hi my peeps! I just wanted to quickly share a project that I made for the GCD Studios booth at CHA. I've posted some pics of this but they weren't very good quality and I wanted to show the close ups of the flowers that I made with my new Natural Beauty line and my new Mix'd Media Stax 2.
My friend Heidi Sonboul gave me the wood plaque below and said "Wanna make something with this?" Of course I said "Sure!" because I was already designing something with lotsa flowers on it in my head. And this is what I created...
The butterflies, bird, embroidered flowers, 2-D pink flowers, leaves and the title are all images from the lacquered image sheet that comes in the 12x12 paper pad (shown below).
The white flower was made with a combination of Natural Beauty papers and Mix'd Media Stax 2 papers. The center dictionary bud and the fluffy looking white mulberry paper are from the Stax and the gray paper with lettering is "Nancy's Mushrooms". There are a couple more mulberry paper flowers shown in the photo above as well as pink flowers made with "Rosey" & "Twiggy" and brown flowers made with "Free."
Most of the flower centers were made with my Spellbinder "Bitty Blossoms" dies and the larger flowers were made with my "Grand Peony Creations" dies.
The photo above gives you a better view of the 2 dimensional embellishments compared to the 3-D flowers.
The large pink flower was made with "Rosey" and "Twiggy" papers and my "Bitty Blossoms" and "Grand Peony Creations" dies.
The light colored flower was made with "Nancy's Mushrooms" with a little bit of dictionary from my Mix'd Media Stax 2 and it also used the "Bitty Blossoms" and "Grand Peony Creations" dies. I also used my "Carnation Creations" dies for some of the smaller flowers to combine with the smallest of the "Bitty Blossoms" flower dies. There is also a great shot of how fluffy the mulberry paper flowers look. I used my "Rose Creations" dies for the large one in the photo above.
For the pink flowers I used "Rosey" and "Twiggy" papers with "Bitty Blossoms" and "Carnation Creations" dies and for the brown flower I used the "Free" paper with "Bitty Blossoms" and "Rose Creations" dies. You can also see a little bit of the coloring that I did on the edge with "Sparrow" and "Bluejay" Mix'd Media Inx CHOX.
I hope you like this project as much as I do and that it gives you some fun ideas for using my new papers with my Spellbinder dies. :)
