Donna Salazar Designs 2012-2013 Design Team Call

We are REALLY excited to announce the 2012-2013 Design Team Call for Donna Salazar Designs!

This year the DT call will be divided into TWO rounds:

ROUND 1 begins at 12:00 a.m. on December 1st and all applications must be in by 12:00 a.m. on January 1st, 2012.
All applicants, please email the following information to both donna@donnasalazar.com AND natasha@donnasalazar.com:

• Name
• Email
• Mailing Address
• Phone Number
• Blog Link
• Short Bio
• List of Current Design Teams including:
  • The duration of each term
  • Did you complete the entire term for all?  If not, please give a brief explanation for each
• List of Past Design Teams
  • The duration of each term
  • Did you complete the entire term for all?  If not, please give a brief explanation for each
• Links to all active galleries including scrapbook.com
• Link to Facebook account
• Link to Twitter account (if applicable)
• Please submit photos of FOUR (4) Projects
• **OPTIONAL** It isn't required but we'd love to see digi or hybrid projects. Please make sure that you label your photos as "digi" or "hybrid" if you do this option
  
  • (2) Layouts
  • (1) Card
  • (1) Altered project
  • Use of Donna Salazar Designs product is required on at least one project.

ROUND 2:  Eight (8) finalists will be selected from the first round of the DT Call and will be announced on the Donna Salazar blog on January 3rd.

• The finalists will be sent boxes with samples of Donna Salazar Designs product from Spellbinders, Clearsnap, GCD Studios, Zutter, Want2Scrap and Art Gone Wild with an approximate value of $100
• The finalists will be required to create two (2) projects
  • Quality projects with good photos are a must
  • The first project should be created for a “share” post
  • The second project should be created for a “tutorial” post and include step by step photos
• The html for these posts will need to be e-mailed to both Donna and Natasha by February 1st at 12:00 a.m.
  • These post should NOT be made public on the finalist’s blogs until after the new DT has been chosen
  • After the new DT has been chosen the finalists will be given a date to make their posts live

The 2012-2013 Design Team will be announced on Donna’s blog on February 2nd, 2012. The Design Team boxes will be sent to the new team members after the announcement.

TERM REQUIREMENTS

• This DT term will run from February 2012 to February 2013
• Each DT member is required to have a blog
• Each DT member is required to have a Facebook account (or be willing to create one) because all team communication is done via a Facebook Group
• Each DT member is asked to participate as much as possible on the DSD Facebook Fan Page and the Girlie Grunge Ning Site
• Each DT member will be required to submit the html code for two (2) project posts every month
  • One post will be a share post and the other will be a tutorial post
• Each DT member will be required to create additional projects for both CHA Summer and CHA Winter
• Each DT member will be required to use Donna Salazar Designs product from Spellbinders, Zutter, Clearsnap, Want2Scrap, GCD Studios, and Art Gone Wild
  • Please make sure that any existing commitments won’t be conflicting with these companies before applying
• Each DT member will be required to submit 3 projects for magazine publication each month
  
  • either print or online magazines are acceptable
• “Drama Mamas” need not apply.  :)

SPECIAL NOTE: All DSD Design Team Members will receive a GENEROUS amount of product from several different manufacturers and in return, every DT member is expected to fully commit to the above requirements.

WHEN SUBMITTING: **The subject of your email should be ‘Design Team Call - Name - Country’ (Ex: Design Team Call - Natasha Naranjo Aguirre - USA).**

INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS: This call is open to both US and International artists; however, international artists will be required to pay their own shipping costs for all DSD product before their DT packages can be shipped. There will be 3-5 shipments during the 2012-2013 term. We will do our best to combine product from as many partner companies as possible when shipping. If you are an International applicant, please be sure that you are willing and able to pay these shipping charges before applying.

I am so excited!!! Just finished my last LO for the DT call! But it's to late now to take photos....can't wait till tomorrow morning to do so!And then it will be a very long wait ( yes I know it's only a few days but that's still very long! ) until the finalists will be announced!Best of luck to everybody who has submitted work for this call...And good luck also to Donna and Natasha in choosing your new DT...I am pretty sure you will have a difficult task at hand!

Yay! Yay! Yay! I just bought the roses for Spellbinders and haven't taken them out of the packaging yet, but have been DYING to get them out. I need to get my game on (and nerve up) to apply for this! Thanks so much for the opportunity!!!

@ Patricia: The three projects to submit to magazines each month can be older projects too (of course they will have to consist of mainly DSD products). They do not have to consist of the two projects you created for the monthly requirements.
I find that I generally create some cards and tags each month in addition to my two assignments and I submit those to various calls. Hope that info helps you out a bit.

There are so many magazines to which you can submit, you don't have to restrict yourself to the two you mentioned. There are awesome online mags as well, like Ready, Set, Create or Scrapstreet and Scrapbook News & Reviews.

As for the postage to SA it really depends on the weight. I know that Donna and Natasha will group the shipments for the best price of the successful candidates. Hello Donna...
I just need clarification on this requirement for the DT call please...( Each DT member will be required to submit 3 projects for magazine publication each month ) Are these projects exclusive of the once for the project post,and do we need to submit them for publishing ourselves?We have two magazines that come out every second month...I have send LO's previously but was never published.I think my style of scrapping is to different from what they usually publish...
Would appreciate some clearance on this one please?And also would you have any idea what shipping to South Africa would be more or less?

Hi LM. Yep... all non US based artists would have to pay for all their DT product to be shipped to them. I have been paying for all the shipping myself because the manufacturers won't ship internationally. So, rather than not having any international members, I'm allowing international artists the opportunity to be on the team. The shipping may be $50-$70 but there is usually several hundred dollars worth of product in the DT boxes. And please remember that it may be $50 for you as an individual, but I'm sure you can imagine how quickly this adds up for me when I have to pay for the shipping to my whole team. Plus... you can ask any of my existing team members about how much I totally spoil them... throughout the year my DT members can get close to $1,000 in product because of all of my partner companies. This year I think my current team will end up with more than that by the end of their term. I hope this helps to explain the reasoning for you.

Hi there - thanks for posting this opportunity :-)

Just to clarify - does this mean that anyone non US based has to pay to have ALL their DT product sent to them?

That's a little "unusual" so I just wanted to make sure as US shipping to Australia for example is usually in the $50-$70 range....
