Hello my peeps! I have a few classes coming up and I wanted to share...
First I wanted to let everyone know about my new e-classes (the "e" stands for electronic... in case you were wondering). My first E-class is a fancy-schmancy-girlie-grunge slider card. You will be using the Rose Creations die set from Spellbinders to create several different types of flowers as well as learn how to create the sliding card.
This class is going to be $10 and will be held on my Girlie Grunge site. For your class fee you will get a step by step instuctional pdf, a narrated slide presentation video, and a live chat. You can also get the bonus USTREAM techniques for this class for $5. The class is open for enrollment now and you can sign up by clicking HERE. The kits and products for this class will be sold by a partnering company (announcement will be made SOON)
My Magical Inky Techniques 2 class will be held on the My Creative Classroom site and will be opening for enrollment next week.
In this 4 week course we will be picking up where we left off in the first Magical Inky Techniques class. You will be making an Inky-Painty-Glitzy-Grungy book of techniques, some of which will be 3 dimensional. The first week is dedicated to making the cover of the book in all its distressed, decoupaged, glittered and embossed goodness. During the remaining 3 weeks you will make 12 inky technique tags, 4 different technique tags per week, and each week one of the tags will have a 3 dimensional inky-painty technique.
The class is $35 and the kit is $15 (plus shipping and handling). You can sign up for this class on the My Creative Classroom site.
SCRAPPING FRENZY CONVENTION
And last but not least... I'll be teaching at the Scrapping Frenzy convention in Mobile, Alabama on September 15th, 16th and 17th. You can call the store for more details (251-447-2134)
I'll be teaching 2 brand new classes:
Girlie Grunge Frame: In this class you will be making a frame using my Corrugated Board by Zutter. You’ll be playing with my new Mix’d Media Inx, and all the embellies are made with my new Spellbinders dies. This will be an inky-painty-glitzy-grungy class.
I "heart" flowers: This is a very chunky inky-painty-glitzy-grungey project. In this class you will be making 12 very dimensional flowers using the Rose Creations and the new Peony Creation dies from Spellbinders as well as some other fun flower techniques. You will be putting them on some ginormous tags that will be tied inside the 4x7 corrugated cover. We’ll be distrezzing, inking, and spritzing our hearts out.
That is all for now... I have more e-classes that will be open for enrollment soon so stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by! Smooches ~D~
I used a Dymo Caption Maker for the journaling. I love the embossed texture of the letters.
Below is a quick and easy tutorial on how to create my 'Simple Elegance' flower.
Hey everyone. I wanted to share a few tips for creating artistic embellishments. After I create a card or scrapbook page, I typically try and use up all the paper and embellishments to make either tags, or embellished accents .(I like to call them Scraps). They can be added to a cardfront, layered on a scrapbook page, or used as a bookmark or gift tag. The possiblities are endless and they are great to have on hand for any future occasion! First, I had created a card for a friend using Spring In Bloom papers.
Using some of the leftover paper from the card, I added some gems, cut and created a handmade flower from my Carnation Creations die from Spellbinders and a sticker. The back of this is unfinished but this would quickly add to a cardstock or can be added as an embellishment on a future scrapbook page... quick and ready !
Then, I was inspired to make a tag. Using the spritz that was left in my Color Catcher, I ran a tag through it until it was dampily "dusted" with the leftover smooch spritzes. While I had my die cutter out, I cut a butterfly using the Fanciful Flight die from Spellbinders and added some gems. I added some paper from Antiquities to the dried tag. Another great embellishment or accent ready for use! Here is another example of a card and its inspired scrap....
Here I cut and layered the "extra" flowers out of the same die cut template and the butterfly. I even used the bits of "scrap" papers to create leaves and the title for the tag. Next time, you finish a project, see what you can create using your leftover scraps to make some fun artistic and finished embellishments. You never know when you may need a quick accent! See you next time!
