The Prima Master Classes:
The Master Classes were a HIT!!! People didn't want to leave! I didn't leave the class until almost 10:00 (it was supposed to be over at 8:00)
We had such a blast. I taught a TON of techniques to store owners and scrappy/crafty teachers... PLUS... everyone got to shop the walls at CLOSE OUT prices and even pick up some limited edition items. There are gonna be some very happy cutstomers when the stores put out the fabulous goods that they purchased.
Prima's owner was in attendance as well and she had so much fun. She never has the time to scrap and she was able to get 2 layouts done!!! I was very proud to have her in my class. We did some extra special stuff for our "GRAND OPENNING" classes. We spread flowers all over the floor and tables and you should have seen the effect it had on people! They felt like royalty.
Here are more fun shots!
And look at the great job that Denny did with the decor:
I also taught at A-Z Scrapbooking this weekend. I just love Viv and Corey... and Steve too! Though this was a terrible weekend to teach, with people going out of town for the holiday, we still had a total blast! I didn't have a lot of students but sometimes it is nice to be able to sit down with the class and play right along with them... and that is what I did. I made some Christmas presents while I was teaching and demonstrating techniques. I also ended up brainstorming with Viv until LATE... both our hubbies were getting worried but we were thinking up some GREAT stuff for me to try to incorporate into the special promotions at Prima. Did I mention that Prima put me in charge of that recently? It is pretty exciting!
Royal Slumber Crop - March 14 & 15, 2009
Leah Fung, Johanna Peterson, Stephanie Ackerman, and I are teaching at a 2-day charity crop on March 14th and 15th. The very fun Royal Slumber Crop is organized by Scrapbook Royalty and it will be two full days of cropping. You can crop 32 hours straight if you like plus there will be classes, meals, tea time, prizes and lots of pampering, like massages and even waxing and yoga! It will be held at the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos and the cost is $75 if you want to take 2 classes; $95 if you want to take all 4 classes. Also, each participant needs to raise a minimum of $100, which will go to the Cancer Coping Center and the San Marcos Boys & Girls Club, and if you need help raising the money, Scrapbook Royalty can help you with that too.
I will be one of the “fairy godmothers” which basically just means that I make sure that all the ladies at my table are well cared for. Several companies are sponsoring tables, which are being called “flower beds” and I will be watering the… drumroll please… PRIMA FLOWER BED! Hellloooo… once they learned that the tables would be “flower beds” how could they resist being a sponsor!!! I will be donning my fairy wings, tiara and will be bringing my fairy godmother wand. You seriously DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!!! Sign-ups start in December and the first 30 people who sign up get extra goodies and special VIP treatment! Run… don’t walk… over to the Scrapbook Royalty site and get the details!
If you click on this Royal Slumber Crop link, you can find more info about the event and classes. I'm excited to be teaching a brand new project for this charity event.
I’m teaching a chunky Prima Mini-Book using my absolute Most favorite-est Prima product, the Down Home kit. It is full of lovely denim, cardboard, lace, twill, and of course completely unique flowers! I’m adding some Prima bling (gotta have the bling), more FLOWERS, and papers from Prima’s “Youth” line. This is a very fun and very chunky book. It will have 10 pages plus a front and back cover! If you'd like more info about my class (and the other wonderful classes) click here.
Just as I felt like I was getting better and was almost 100%... I had to go and teach Friday, Saturday and Sunday... and today it all came down on me like a ton of bricks. My head feels like it weighs a hundred pounds and ever time I stand I hear a pounding in my ears. I hate to admit it but I'm not as young as I used to be. I'm gonna be 40 in February and I am definitely beginning to feel it! I'm still going to try to clean up my scrap area (formerly known as the dining room) because it is the only dining room we have and Thanksgiving is Thursday.... Aaaahhhh! Am I the only one that feels like every year is going faster and faster?!? I am gonna make an effort to not be rushed this year so that I can actually enjoy the holidays. I felt like they were here and gone before I knew it last year.
I'll post my recipe for Caramel Pecal Cinnamon Rolls later this week. They are my own altered version from my grandma's recipe and they are the bomb!!! My grandma used to make cinnamon rolls for all of our holiday dinners. I took up the mantle after she passed away and over the years I have changed the recipe slightly each year until I got them just right! Well... just right as far as my family is concerned...lol. That means lots and lots of carmelly goodness!
We won't be able to see much of the family this year due to this crazy economy. My immediate family moved out of the state one by one and half of my husband's family has too! So for Thanksgiving we will have a nice little get together with my hubbie's sister and her family. It will be nice... but I'll be missing my sisters, my mom & dad and my hubbie's parents too.
I hope everyone celebrating Thanksgiving this week will have a great time with family and loved ones!!! Thanks for stopping by!
