Cry baby at the charity...
Yep... that was me. I can't tell you how many times I cried on Saturday. I looked in the mirror on Sunday morning and saw that I had broken blood vessels in my eyelids from all the strain... no kidding! There were moments when I felt sad but mostly I was just plain touched by the generosity and caring of all of these ladies who didn't even know my friend but were moved enough by her story to want to help out.
We had a sold out event and everyone had a great time. We had 2 main classes, I taught one and Liz Hernandez taught the other, and 2 make n takes, one by Leah Fung and the other by Stephanie Ackerman. I was a little distracted so I forgot to take a lot of pictures... thank goodness that Elena had someone taking photos and she will be uploading them to a public album... whew! I don't know what I would have done without Scrapbook Royalty. They saved my sanity in planning this event.
Here is me & Elena
Here is me and Priscilla with 2 of her 4 kids:
Here is Stephanie with the silent auction item that Candice Carpenter donated:
This is a cookie from Melissa... she made cookies for every person, a basket of cookies for the silent auction and some cookie flower pots for prizes.
Here is a photo of the main crop area:
Priscilla brought a ton of her family photos and I'll be doing a scrapbook for her with the theme "We Remember..." I hope that this will help her to record the things that they remember about George so that the kids can remember as much as possible about their daddy.
Here are 3 of the layouts that I've made for her:
I think that we've raised over $2,000 for the Tyree family! There is still another opportunity to donate to this cause. We are raffling a pink and black Big Shot on the Scrapbook Royalty site for the next month. so you'll not only be helping out but you can get a chance to win something super cool!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Hugs ~D~
